Jun. 17th, 2002 12:01 amJust back from the east bay. Spent the night at Mike and Maggie's last night, then lounged around for the beginning part of the day playing video games. I miss my computer. It's rapidly approach ing being sucked under by the undertow of the technology wave (Damn you Moore's Law. Damn you to hell!), but it's mine damn it. And I think it could still boldly clunk through most of the games out right now that I want to play.
Around 4ish we ventured off to pick up my sister and then grab her boy from work to head to the new Coldstone by M&M's house.
Worst designed Coldstone ever! Or maybe it was just more noticeable because it was their grand opening and it was packed with people. It was quite apparent that the employees hadn't really gotten into the whole swing of things either. But despite all that, the ice cream was still yummy. Nadja found out that you can bring in just about anything to be added to your icecream also. Witness some of the creations we came up with that will hopefully only ever live in our minds.
Curry Powder and Beets Icecream
Jalapeno and Garlic Icecream
Borscht Icecream
Bernie Bott's Every Flavor Bean Icecream
Hallucinogenic Mushroom Icecream
Swung back by M&M's quickly. Gave goodbye skritchings to Nea, and made final warding gestures in the direction of the devil cats. Packed up the shorts I sleep in when I'm over there, which are garish almost to the point of glory. They're white with bikinis and fruity tropical drinks on them. I wonder where Maggie found them. Then off to Berkeley proper and hot movie akshun. Though everyone else seeme d to have conflicting energy levels or already had plans, or in the case of Ericpants and Starr had strange phone voodoo, so it was just Val, Marklar, and myself. We went to go see CQ, which was quite good.
Then afterwards, Val and Marklar were nice enough to give me a ride into the city to pick up some quick dinner and catch the last Caltrain down south. Yay for Val and Marklar. I don't get to see them, or anyone else, nearly enough anymore. One day I'll find my way back to the east bay. One day.
Back at my mom's now. Managed to rush back to the computer just in time to get a father's day greeting off under the wire, and now I'm sitting around on irc, procrastinating on tomorrow. Said some things to someone earlier that I really didn't want to, but it seemed neccesary. Nonetheless, I'm not particularly happy about the situation at all. Kinda one of those down nights on the ole chat system. Oh well, in the long run, it's better than endless days of blatant innuendo.
